What did WHS Think of The Walking Dead Season 6 Finale?

What did WHS Think of The Walking Dead Season 6 Finale?

Christopher Chalker, Staff Writer

AMC’S hit zombie apocalypse series recently blew our minds with the season finale. The Walking Dead ended its 6th season on April 3rd. The ending of the finale has had fans thinking of all kinds of crazy theories.

Recently, I interviewed Weedsport High School Seniors Tim Reeves and Alexis Rivers to get their input on the finale, and I also included my thoughts on the finale.

Q. What do you think about Carol and Morgan in the finale?

Me: Honestly, I have no clue. I’m assuming that they are good guys, but we don’t know much about them at this point. My thought is that they are going to help Carol with her injuries and somehow learn about the Saviors and join in on the fight against The Saviors.

Alexis:It was stupid for Carol to leave. But I think she just needs time to figure everything out.

Tim: I think she’ll make it. She has it in her to make it. But I don’t know how much more she can take. I like how their only real interaction is when they are fighting. I also like that Morgan makes it a priority to find Carol when she leaves.

Q. Who do you think Negan killed?

Me: I strongly believe they are doing a complete change from the comics and sparing Glenn, while killing Maggie in his place. She’s pregnant. In the comics, Lori dies before Judith is born, however Judith is alive in the TV series, so maybe they will kill off Maggie’s baby and potentially her. One baby is enough for the group, they don’t really need another one. Maggie has also been a primary and secondary focus this season, with Glenn almost dying several times. When the group goes to a Savior stronghold, Glenn finds some pictures on the wall that appear to be Lucille victims, and to me that says it all. Glenn seems uncomfortable after seeing that and to me that signals that something bad will happen to him, but not to him exactly. The line the group is in also provided some evidence for her case. When Negan swings Lucille at Maggie, he stops when Glenn yells “no”. When Negan turns around, he looks happy to see that Glenn has reacted.

Alexis: Oh man. He captured all the good people.  Negan seems to me like he’s a power versus power kind of guy. So in that aspect I think it could be Rick.

Tim: I don’t know. I’ve been thinking that it might be Daryl. I don’t want it to be Daryl.

Q. What were your overall thoughts on the finale?

Me: The 90 minute finale could’ve been summed up in far less time. It dragged for buildup to the cliffhanger at the end. The end was the only thing we really needed to see. The ending scene was well executed and I can’t wait to see who really bit the dust when season 7 starts.

Alexis: It was a mess. There were too many people. I mean, I get that the point of the finale is to keep you guessing but I feel like there are so many outcomes.

Tim: It sucked. I hated it. Didn’t make sense why they didn’t show us Negan’s victim.
