The Newest Transformers Movie Should Be a Summer Hit

Transformers: The Last Knight is an upcoming film set to be released June 23, 2017. This is the fifth movie of the Transformers series and the stakes are high for director Michael Bay. The latest movie from 2014, Transformers: Age of Extinction is the lowest earning movie of the series so far. It was meant to be sort of a fresh start with a whole new cast, a new location and even a group of different Transformers. However, all of these things created chaos instead.

Humans and Transformers are at war, and Optimus Prime had left earth to find his creators at the end of movie four, so as of right now not too much is known about the plot other than fan speculation. The trailer is shown below and this movie is unlike any of the previous films in the series.

Weedsport sophomore Karena Ward says that the previous movies have been hard to follow, and she is looking forward to, “Maybe having an actual storyline for once.”

Many new Transformers and characters will be featured, as well as characters who have been around since the beginning, such as Bumblebee. Although, based on the trailer where we see Bumblebee being slammed to the ground by Optimus Prime himself, we are unsure if he will live to see another movie.

Karena is one of the many people who consider Bee their favorite Transformer, and when asked about the events of the trailer she says,  “I really hope that they don’t kill off Bumblebee. I think that he is one of the more important characters and things would not be as good without him.”

I would have to agree with her, while Bee is not my favorite character, he does have an infectious sense of humor that can help to lighten the mood throughout the movies. However, my favorite character would have to be the human soldier, William Lennox. He was in the first three movies and has been brought back for the fifth movie. Although we don’t see very much of him throughout the films as the Transformers are obviously the main focus, I just really like his character.

The Summer of 2017 will release many highly anticipated movies. To name a few: Guardians of the Galaxy 2, Wonder Woman, Spiderman Homecoming, Annabelle 2, War of the Planet of the Apes and others. Here is a link to some movies to look forward to: http://www.imdb.com/list/ls033453014/

Although no matter how excited you may be to see yet another Planet of the Apes movie or a creepy doll attacking children, I think that your money at the movies would be much better spent watching Transformers. A mix of humor, explosions and talking robots always makes for a good time.
