What is Love?

What is Love?

Angela Hackett, Staff Writer

One word…. love… what is it? How does it feel? Why do we feel it?

A lot of people say that they have been, or currently are in love. But think for a second, can you tell me what it is? Probably not, because we all know love can be joyous, and at times VERY problematic. I’m sure we all have our own definition of love.

For example, love is the feeling of butterflies when you’re around someone. Your heart races, you can’t stop thinking about them, you dream of them, you feel as if you’re going to explode. But is love really all that blissful? No, probably not. With love comes not only happiness but confusion, sadness, and heartbreak, so why do we try oh so desperately to fall in love?

We put ourselves out there and risk being hurt, but why do we do that? Well, it’s because love is stronger than hate. We all hope to fall madly in love with someone, to get married, have kids and watch them grow up, and to grow old with that one special person. In order to get to that special person we have to go through  multiple people. In my opinion, I would do it a thousand times to find the one I love. But are you willing to risk it to find that special person?
