North Korea: How Serious is the Threat?

North Korea: How Serious is the Threat?

It’s no secret that Kim Jong-Un and his fellowship of thugs are attempting to terrorize the world with missile tests and empty threats. This has been occurring for years, ever since the boy king assumed power, but then it was a simple joke to most sensible Americans. People didn’t even consider that his actions could spiral and evolve into what could very possibly become the end of an era of relative peace.

Let’s be honest, there is no pretty way that this ends. The world is torn between two sides, and the Korean Peninsula is where this all begins and where it will end. The Korean Peninsula is a powder keg and soon enough it will explode. There are two sides, and when there is a movement, there is a leader. Even though North Korea is the main aggressor and is instigating this conflict, they aren’t what everyone is scared of. That prize would go to Russia, the only nation that could stand up to the United States and have a fighting chance.

The root of the issue is simply the leadership. On both sides we have the aggressor and the appeaser, and that mix leads to an unfair balance of power. Barack Obama levied sanctions and warnings to North Korea, and it should have been apparent that they weren’t listening. Kim Jong-Un is a mini maniacal maniac who has more power than he could ever be able to use in a positive manner. It isn’t his army or his navy, or even his entire military that frightens people. Not even his weapons of mass destruction are enough to scare most. It’s his ability to spark World War III whenever he wants.

Now I know what you’re asking, how can he do this, when did he get this power? He is in control of the entire situation, and he can send one missile in the general direction of the US, and it’s over. War will commence; the lines have been drawn and it will be the end of an era of prosperity. When the next world war begins, there is a good chance of there never being another one. To quote Albert Einstein, ”I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.”
