EPISODE 12

Yet another slow move towards war, which seems inevitable yet has been dragged out of our reach as viewers for so long. This episode follows Rick Grimes and Michonne heading out for guns to solidify their end of the deal with the mysterious group.

This episode stars…

Andrew Lincoln as Rick Grimes

Danai Gurira as Michonne

Sonequa Martin-Green as Sasha Williams

Christian Soratos as Rosita Espinosa

“Say Yes”

Rick and Michonne stumble upon a war zone and find the guns they need to finish their deal with Jadis and her people, The Scavengers. Rick expresses guilt over the death of Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun) at the hands of Negan. Saying that he was saved by Glenn from the very beginning and that he could never save him and now Rick has to live with that. Rick and Michonne return to Jadis with the guns, but Jadis says it isn’t enough. Rosita, who also went looking for guns, can’t find any. She also blames Gabriel Stokes for her failure to kill Negan back in “Hearts Still Beating” after the death of Spencer Monroe (Austin Nichols) and the resulted death of Olivia and Eugene Porter being taken by The Saviors. Rosita takes a sniper rifle and approaches Sasha Williams at Hilltop with a plan to kill Negan. Sasha agrees, under the terms that she gets to take the shot.

Rick and Michonne enjoy a getaway in a carnival and the two talk of the new world order and reestablishing it after they take out Negan. No real solid plan is devised however.

Foreshadowing

Rosita and Sasha both talk about how this is likely a one-way ticket for them both. What will happen to them?

Jadis is very relaxed and quiet about things. Her and her people don’t seem very trustworthy.

EPISODE 13

Richard makes a big move, but it doesn’t go according to plan. Morgan slips back to how he was before Alexandria. The Kingdom hits a roadblock, both literally and metaphorically, that changes things for them.

“Bury Me Here”

King Ezekiel, Richard, Benjamin, Morgan Jones, and some other members of The Kingdom head out to deliver supplies to the Savior’s for their routines. On the way there, they find a blockade of shopping carts made into an arrow, pointing towards a newly dug grave, a sign above it reads “BURY ME HERE”

Upon arrival at the exchange with Gavin, he realizes that there is only eleven cabbages instead of the usual twelve. Gavin says that after the trouble they had with Richard last time, the Kingdom-ers being late and short on their delivery, it can’t go unpunished. Jared, the same Savior who was at odds with Richard on their last exchange a fee episodes back, pulls out a gun, prepared to shoot Richard before he turns the gun on Benjamin and fires a shot. Gavin gets angry, forcing Jared to walk home as Morgan, Ezekiel, and the others rush to get Benjamin the medical help he needs. Benjamin is taken to Carol, but he eventually dies after reciting something Morgan told him earlier. Morgan puts Benjamin down so he doesn’t turn.

Morgan goes crazy, slipping back to how he was after his son, Duane, was bit by his reanimated mother, Jenny. He kicks over a yellow bin by the shopping cart blockade, revealing the missing cabbage. Morgan remembers that Richard was near that container when they investigated the blockade. Morgan confronts Richard with the container and Richard confesses that he hid the cabbage to get things started between The Kingdom and The Saviors.
