The Clown Epidemic in the USA

These scary, and uncomfortable clown sightings had originated in Greenville County, in South Carolina, around August 20 2016. The first sighting was a circus clown seen near the woods where they had reportedly been trying to lure young children towards them with money and candy. The authorities thought it was the children making up these stories, but then adults began to come forward to the police saying they have seen clowns standing under a streetlight waving at them. Authorities have now put extra officers on duty, patrolling the community to ensure everyone safety.

Another sighting was in Green Bay, Wisconsin, where reportedly a clown was walking around clutching a bunch of black balloons. Some locals had made a sport out of spotting the “Green Bay Clown,” nicknamed “Gags,” while others are resistant and hesitant, and aren’t comfortable with something so odd being such a fantasy.

That was just the beginning of it all. Sighting of clowns have became a regular across many states. From being harmless and non-threatening, to frightening and violent, they have quickly become a spotlight that society is now focusing on. Clowns are now terrorizing communities, and making children, and adults, feel unsafe being outside or letting their children go out after dark.

Some clowns have had machetes and hammers, and chased after people with intent to try and harm them. Hikers had reported a clown walking a trail early in the morning and when confronted and asked why, the clown ran at them. Another lady had said she was driving by and saw a clown on the side of the road at night near the woods and he had made a fake gun out of his hand and said, “bang bang, you’re dead.”

With clowns becoming more and more aggressive and threatening, people have been taking matters into their own hands, and handling the clowns instead of having the authorities do it. Clowns have been badly beaten, killed and arrested. Many stores that sold clown costumes and masks have decided to do away with selling them, and not contribute and promote people dressing up as clowns and being a nuisance, causing trouble to communities, while others think it’s funny and look at it as a opportunity to profit off this phenomenon that society has blown it into.
