The college football season is nearing the halfway point on its way to its first ever National Championship Playoff.

After Florida State’s football team rallied back from a 17-point deficit to beat North Carolina State 56-41, FSU remains number 1 in the AP top 25 rankings.  Was this clutch comeback by Florida State a result of Jameis Winston’s return from suspension?

Coming off a by week, Oregon will face a strong, undefeated Arizona Wildcats.  Only one team can remain undefeated, who will come out on top?  This week Alabama will face Ole Miss, a common foe for the Crimson Tide.  The combination of  Alabama WR, Amari Cooper and QB Blake Sims will look to capitalize on this rivalry game.

Leading the ESPN Heisman poll is Georgia’s RB Todd Gurley with 44 votes. He leads the BCS in yards rushing with 610 adding 6 touchdowns and 9 receptions for 30 yards.  Next on the polls is Oregon’s QB Marcus Mariota with 43 votes.  Mariota has 1,135 yards passing with 13 touchdowns and 214 yards rushing including 3 touchdowns.  Third in the Heisman race is Alabama WR, Amari Cooper with 24 votes.  Amari Cooper has brought in 43 receptions for 655 yards receiving and 5 touchdowns.

New to the BCS this season will be the playoff system.  Following the regular season, the top 8 teams will proceed to a bracket style playoff where each team will play in either the Orange Bowl, Chick-fil-A Bowl, the Fiesta Bowl, or the Sugar Bowl. The winners of each game will move to the next round and play in the Rose Bowl or Cotton Bowl.  The victors will move on to the championship played in the Cowboy’s stadium in Arlington Texas.
