It was happening again, you were traveling through your mind back to the “realm.” You feel yourself laying on the cold ground, you could tell as you run your fingers through the dirt. You couldn’t open your eyes, it was as if when you traveled you had to force them open, and you did just that. You looked around, and you can see the fight going on. You can see your friends fighting, you can see the ones who had died, you can see those evil shadows, but most of your attention was on… him.

His electrifying blue eyes were shut. He was on the ground, shadows crowded around him staring down from above. He was your everything, he had kept you strong, and has kept you going for so long you couldn’t leave. He was your best friend, your true love, your husband. At that moment you watch as they were about to pierce the dagger through his heart. You take your knife and throw it hoping for the best. Bulls-eye, straight in the middle of the forehead.

The “shadow” turns to ash and flows away with the wind. You run to him, leaning down to give him a simple kiss upon his rough lips, they were chapped. You laugh, thinking how he never takes care of himself. You’re trying to find joy in the sad moment, and although you seem to laugh, your emotions catch up to you, you start to cry , you thought he was dead. You feel a hand squeeze yours, you jolt your head up from his chest and look down on him, “C-Caden?” you say with your voice cracking.

“You can’t get rid of me that easy, my love.” Your mind became as clouded as they did when your eyes were dripping with tears. You loved him, of course you had never told him that but you did and he knew it. You rest your hands upon his chest and concentrated until you were touching nothing but feathers. He was safe now at the infirmary on the base you had teleported him to. You get up and grab your sword. You were angry.

“How dare they come into my world and hurt the ones I love!” You grab your sword and one by one each of them died. What seemed like minutes, was really hours until each shadow had died. Ash laid on the ground slowly becoming one with the breeze. You were tired, so, so very tired. You knew this wasn’t the end, there would be more wars ahead in time, wars not only in the realm but in reality as well. You know you will have to fight again and you knew that you WILL win even if it takes your last breath. You walk to the base enjoying the breeze, you were tired yet so excited you couldn’t wait for what your next adventure would bring you. You collapse on your bed, greeting sleep, and excited for what the next day’s adventure would be, in the Realm of the Fallen.
