Learning another language can provide a person with many benefits. Whether that be helping to open up a world of job opportunities or meeting new people and immersing yourself in new cultures, learning a new language can make somebody’s life much more exciting.

Thankfully Weedsport has a wonderful language program with teachers who are always willing to help if necessary and students are even offered the chance to see the language and culture they are studying up close.

Over the years, the Spanish class has taken trips to Mexico, Spain and Puerto Rico, while the French class has gone to France and French-Speaking Canadian locales.

Over the Summer Mrs. Matson and 24 Weedsport Spanish students traveled to Puerto Rico. When talking about the experience Mrs. Matson said, “The trip provided students with an opportunity to learn about culture in a Spanish speaking country without leaving the US.”

Also speaking about the trip was Danielle Mattison. She summed up the adventure by saying, “It was an experience of a lifetime and I would do it again if I could.”
