Girl With the Torn Wings: An Original Poem

Girl With the Torn Wings: An Original Poem

Angela Hackett, Staff Writer

Here lies the broken girl with the torn wings

she walked through the crowd but stuck to the corner

she know she is safe yet she can not help but to hide

“I’m not here” “Don’t look”

she had said these phrases for what seems like an eternity

The stories she has hid with her lies

And the lies she had told with her lips

Her heart, it is heavy full of regret, and hate,

Regret for the mistakes she had made

And Though she does not hate other.

She has found a pure hate for none other than herself

she had made mistakes,

she had tried to love,

She learned to be a brave soul

But when push comes to shove

She was nothing but a coward in the dark.

To be happy comes from great strength

That she does not possess

For long ago i once knew a girl

Who had made all the wrong choices

And has yet to recover.

A broken soul

Knowing only pain

A fallen angel with her wings

Torn

Her story is a tell tale of a broken girl.
