A Review of Jack Reacher: Never Go Back

A Review of Jack Reacher: Never Go Back

Chris Chalker, Staff Writer

The sequel to the original Jack Reacher movie, Jack Reacher: Never Go Back was released in theaters. I went to go see it a while ago and it’s time that it got a review.

So what exactly happened in Jack Reacher: Never Go Back?

What did you think about the movie?

I thought the movie was pretty good for a sequel, although the cast from the first is not in this movie and we don’t really see the aftermath of the first film, so I was kind of disappointed with that. I feel like they could’ve at least brushed up on it and they didn’t. Overall, I really liked it. The characters were interesting and I love Jack Reacher as a character.

What did you dislike about the movie?

Again. I felt like they should’ve brushed up on what happened in the first movie. Maybe seeing some of the older cast and having them tie in but they didn’t do that, which was a good thing and a bad thing. I thought that the story dragged at the beginning.

What did you like about the movie?

I liked Reacher. I also thought Tom Cruise and Cobie Smulders did a nice job playing their characters. I thought that the story in itself was very different than the first one which was good, I hate it when the sequel mirrors the one before it, so it was good seeing that. I also liked the “is Reacher this girl’s father?” story that played out, and the resolution to that was good too.

Questions left?

What’s next for Reacher? Will we see any of the other characters from Jack Reacher or Jack Reacher: Never Go Back in the future? What will we see him do next?
