A Look Ahead To The Super Bowl

Tim Feocco, Sports Editor

Super Bowl 53 is coming up this weekend on Sunday, February 3 at 6:30 kickoff. The teams in it this year are the New England Patriots and the Los Angeles Rams. The Patriots are in it for the third year in a row and since 2002 they have been in the Super Bowl 8 times and this year will make it the 9th. The Rams, on the other hand, have not been in the Super Bowl since 2002. The Patriots played the Kansas City Chiefs to move onto the Super Bowl they beat them in overtime. The other championship game was the Rams beating the New Orleans Saints, also in overtime. Both the games were controversial because in the Rams game there was the no called pass interference which brought a lot of heat to NFL referees. In the Patriots game, it was tight throughout and the Patriots got the first drive in overtime and they brought it in for a touchdown to send them to the Super Bowl. The Rams had a great regular season with the record of 13-3. The Patriots ended their regular season with a record of 11-5. Key players in this Super Bowl are obviously going to be the quarterbacks of both teams, Tom Brady and Jared Goff. The running backs will also be impactful, the Rams got a great running back in Todd Gurley, who will be very important in this game. The Patriots have two good running backs in Sony Michel and James White. Wide receivers in this game are Brandin Cooks, He was on the Patriots last year, and Robert Woods are the receivers for the Rams and for the Patriots they have Julian Edelman and Phillip Dorsett. Watch for these receivers to have an impact on the game. These are some Key players for the offenses of both teams. The Defenses are both going to need to contain both these powerful offenses to be able to win the game. So the Super Bowl is set, tune in Sunday at 6:30 to watch the Super Bowl playout and see who will be crowned champions.
