If you’re looking for something new to do next summer in Syracuse, head out to NBT Stadium in Syracuse and check out the Syracuse Mets! The Syracuse Chiefs officially changed their name to the Syracuse Mets a few weeks ago. The name change will occur at the beginning of the 2019 season.

Last season, the Chiefs contract with the Washington Nationals ended. The New York Mets picked up the contract and bought the Chiefs, and now they are the Triple-A team for the Mets. They had a whole new overload of new team items. They have a new logo, new uniforms, and new merchandise for the fans. The team also is going to stay in Syracuse at least in til 2043 because of an extension that came from Syracuse.

Now that the team has a new look, Syracuse fans should look to have excitement at the beginning of the season. Also, since Syracuse is now owned by the Mets, it is a possibility for Tim Tebow to play up here in Syracuse. This will add even more excitement for Syracuse Mets Fans. Onondaga County is also closing in on a plan to make about $25 Million in improvements at the stadium. So with all these changes, Syracuse Baseball is going to look a lot different from now on. Saying goodbye to the Chiefs and saying hello to the Mets.
