Hella Mega Tour Ready to Rock Your Summer
Green Day, Fall Out Boy and Weezer coming to a town near you
This summer is full of surprises of concert tours and massive stadiums sold out, but one of the most anticipated tours this summer is the Hella Mega Tour featuring Fall Out Boy, Weezer and Green Day all touring together to celebrate their new albums coming out of this year.
Fall Out Boy formed in Wilmette, Illinois, a suburb in Chicago in 2001 selling 4 million albums worldwide with smash hits such as “My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark(Light ‘Em Up)” and “Centuries.” The members consist of vocalist/guitarist Patrick Stump, bassist Pete Wentz, drummer Andrew Hurley, and guitarist Joe Trohman. Their new album Greatest Hits: Believers Never Die will come out on November 15 of this year.
Weezer formed in Los Angeles, California, in 1992. With Rivers Cuomo lead vocals/guitar, drummer Patrick Wilson, bassist Scott Shriner, guitarist Brian Bell. Weezer has released 13 albums, a rarities album, and six EP singles. They have sold alone 13 million albums in the US. Their new album Van Weezer will come out on May 15 of this year but some sources including Weezer’s official page said they might release it sooner while their single off the album “The End of The Game” is out now.
Green Day formed in Berkeley, California, in 1986 with guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong, bassist Mike Dirnt, drummer Tre Cool and later on in Green Day’s career Jack White will join the band as lead guitarist. Green Day, by far, has been the most advertised of the three bands performing at the AMA’s, Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin ‘Eve and the Video Game Awards. They also have performed on radio talk shows such as the Howard Stern Show when they performed “Father Of All…” one of the EP’s off their new album Father Of All Mother####ers. Not only the EP “Father Of All…” was released, but a second EP off the album called “Fire, Ready, Aim” was released. The album will be released on February 7 of this year. Green Day has reached huge success with 12 studio albums and 85 million albums sold worldwide.
Hopefully, the tour will be a huge success coming into this summer when they hit the US branch of the tour from July 17-August 29th. The closest tour dates in the area are Pittsburgh on August 15, Hershey, Penn. on August 16, NYC on August 22, and the last day of the US tour in Philadelphia on August 29.
