Most people have probably heard of Grand Theft Auto V. Be it a parent of a kid who has been begging for it, or a seasoned gamer who has been waiting for the game since it was announced back in 2011. Everyone knows about the game, but not everyone knows about the money and records surrounding the game.
GTA V cost Rockstar about $265 million to make, which is more than most movies. In the first 24 hours of the game’s release, it made $800 million. On the third day of the game being available, it passed the $1 billion dollar mark. By November, the game will have made more money than “Avatar” and “The Dark Knight” combined.
If Rockstar releases GTA V on the Playstation 4 and Xbox One, the game is said to make $5 billion. Not only did GTA V generate massive amounts of money, but it broke many records too. Before it was released, it had already set a record for being the most pre-ordered game in history. On the day of its release, GTA V broke the records for being the most successful and fastest selling video game in history. Not only was it the fastest selling video game, but it was also the fastest selling piece of entertainment in history.
