New Library is Complete
The doors are open and the books are on the shelves once again here in Weedsport Jr/Sr High School. After months of waiting the library is newly renovated and back in action. The new library comes with many features that will benefit students and teachers. With new computers, entire classes can do research and type papers while nearby, other students can read and work in leisure at tables and in comfortable chairs.
The books in our library have been unpacked and updated. Now with the addition of new shelves and more open space, readers of all circles can find books easier and more quickly. Thanks to several grants, the library will be adding many tables and armchairs situated around the shelves to keep reading and working students away from the classes who might be working at the computers. This prevents distraction and keeps classes on topic. This new system also takes a lot of stress off of teachers. The workspace is isolated, which makes managing students much easier.
According to Ms. Speer, the new library turned out exactly as she anticipated. When all of the tables and chairs are situated, as well as a new desk for the librarian, she can get the ball rolling and start the new routine. Hopefully this new system can make reading and working in the library that much more efficient here in Weedsport.
