You know that movie with the bunny rabbit in it that goes to save Easter? If you’re thinking about Hop then well done! But have you ever thought of visiting a place like where the movie takes place? Luckily for you that place is called Easter Island and it is located off the West Coast of Chile! Go to Easter Island to see all of the architectural monuments and the most famous rocks. There is a lot of history to the island and going to the island you can see all of the museums! The island has a population of around 6000 people. A little fun fact, a tribe called the Moai are responsible for the rocks that have faces carved into them. Moai stayed on the island in the 13-16th century and even some people that are descendants of the tribe still stay on the island. Now that sounds like a very cool vacation.
Have you wanted to go to a tropical island for a vacation? Well look no further because Grenada is the place for you! This island is located between the Caribbean and the Atlantic Ocean and has tons to see and explore. This island is the place to go if you want to try all sorts of new foods! A fun fact about the island is that the spice nutmeg came from the island. Tourists recommend this island for the culinary aspects, beaches, and the architecture. Have you ever seen underwater statues? Well you can in Grenada! With break approaching from all different months, this island might make the top of your to-go list!
Some places out of the country might not be for everyone. A lot of people prefer to stay local. Luckily, New York also has a lot of things to do during break that won’t cost a lot!
One place to visit is the Museum of Science and Technology (MOST) in Syracuse. This place is filled with a lot of cool things and can guarantee the family a good time. Even the kids can have a great time in the build and play area that has a bunch of toys for kids and a whole playhouse for them is also in the building! If you like crystals you can visit the gem and mineral gallery that has a ton of cool crystals in it! And let’s not forget about the Dino Zone where you can learn about all of your favorite dinosaurs. If you are interested in going to this place it is located in Armory Square in Downtown Syracuse and there is a fee of $14 per person. But if you ask me, that seems like a fantastic family outing!
One of the most known places in Central New York to visit is Destiny USA. This mall has over 300 shops and fun places to visit. Destiny opened back in 1990 and has so much to offer. The kids can enjoy multiple places like Billy Beez huge jungle gym or WonderWorks with its mind blowing exhibits. If you’re looking for something cheap and something for the family, Destiny USA is the place for you! This mall is also located in Syracuse.
A final place that you can visit with the family in New York is the Herkimer Diamond Mines! This place is well known in New York and is always a blast! If you want to camp, eat, and get crystals all in one this place is for you. The diamond mine is a surface level mine where you can find quartz and even bring it home! The mine has a restaurant along with many camping spots. Have you ever wanted to camp out in a treehouse and star gaze? Well at Herkimer diamond mines have just that. This place is located in Herkimer, about an hour and a half east on the Thruway, and is great for the entire family!
