A Review of the New Film, Dr. Strange
December 9, 2016
The latest addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe was Dr. Strange, which was released last month.
I interviewed Anthony DeFazio for his input on the film.
Q: What did you think of the film?
Anthony: It wasn’t bad, I thought it was actually pretty good. I feel like the story’s plot was rushed and could’ve been handled better. I also feel like Strange’s character was underdeveloped and I didn’t like that. Overall, I thought it was pretty good though.
Me: It jumped around a bit and was kind of confusing, but it wasn’t bad. I feel like the story did too much jumping around and didn’t develop the plot or the characters fully.
Q: What didn’t you like about the film?
Anthony: Like I said, the story was kind of rushed and they could’ve, and should’ve, done that better. Again, Strange was underdeveloped. I was also disappointed with Dormammu because I know him from the comics and I wasn’t happy with how they dealt with him and his character, and how Strange defeated him.
Me: The characters felt weak to me and needed to be done better, and I mean that with all of them, Strange too, which is disappointing because he’s the title character. The plot was very rushed and it was a loose ending, which I didn’t like.
Q: What did you like about the movie?
Anthony: They did a good job with the Ancient One and that other guys Strange was with all the time, they did well with their characters and panning their stories out.
Me: The characters were good, but not great. The story was interesting and different than what we are used to from Marvel, which was cool to see.
